HOME GUIDE

DRIVE

Keep your ‘hillside’ wheels on the white lines as you descend and ascend the drive as a guide, to avoid scraping the bottom of your car on the inside corner at the top of the drive.

You can park at the top of our drive but not on the communal road or turning circle.

KEYS & SECURITY

You’ll be given two keys. Note these also work on the exterior doors of the study and bedroom 2, as well as the front door. When you leave, please ensure all are locked and windows closed. The sitting room sliding doors will need to have the handles facing up for the doors to be locked.

INTERNET

Network is ‘VDW’ and password is ‘Powrie@1’.

HALLWAY MASTER LIGHT SWITCHES

As you enter you’ll see three master switches which turn off all the lights on the three floors. We encourage you to use these as needed when you’re leaving. Don’t forget to turn them back on when you return!

CANDLES

Please don’t burn candles in the house. We provide 4 candle-like LED lamps (touch base to illuminate).

SKI ROOM BOOT HEATERS

If needed, turn them on using the switches on the top of the heaters on the right hand side. This will light up the display panel. Then press MENU once and then OK three times to begin a 2 hour cycle. Explainer video here.

BOILING WATER TAP

Quooker Boiling Water tap. Press down the knurled collar three times. On the third turn, keep it pressed down and turn it anticlockwise and to start the boiling water feed. To stop it, turn it back clockwise and it will pop up and stop. If it isn’t working, check the extension hose is fully re-inserted into end of the tap.

INSINKERATOR & DRAIN

The waste disposal button is to the right of the tap. It’s quite quiet so remember to turn it off! Please don’t put oil, unfinished fondue cheese down the drain as the fat will clog up the drains.

RUBBISH

Please regularly clear this by disposing of it in the communal bins, which are very close by. There are some on Route des Ponthieux - at the top of the private access road, turn right and they are about 75m on your left, just beyond the junction with Rue du Chateau.

BLUETOOTH SPEAKERS (sitting room and sauna).

They are called ‘Lithe Audio’. No password required.

WOOD BURNER IN SITTING ROOM

You’ll find firelighters and a lighter in the orange pots above the burner. The burner door should be properly closed. The vent lever at the bottom of the door controls the airflow - keep it to the right to allow air in, and to the left to cut it off and extinguish the fire.

SAUNA

Touch the screen on the control panel (between sauna and window). On the top right, press “1” and then we’d recommend selecting a favourite programme (press the heart symbol at the bottom), eg “95, 2 hrs”. Note that it will take about 45 mins to an hour to reach this temperature. You don’t have to sit on a towel in the sauna but please do always shower before using it. To turn it off, press the “0” button on the top left of the screen. The lights inside the sauna itself are controlled by switches on the right as you enter the shower.

HOT TUB

Unclip and remove the cover. Press the screen and then the 1 and 2 buttons. Then press the bottom left option on the home screen to turn the jets on. When you return to the Home Screen you can turn on the lights from the middle option. Explainer video here. When you’ve finished, turn the lights and jets off and replace the cover (remember to fasten the clips as this will blow away if there’s a storm).

WINDOW DOORS & HANDLES

You need to push these in before you’re able to turn them! Please don’t force them.

FUSE BOARD / POWER CUTS

This is in the laundry. We have a 36kw 3 phase supply but the system can be overloaded and trip still. If this happens, the main switch to restore power is at the bottom, below the green “Linky” box. It will trip again shortly afterwards if the appliances are not rationed however.
